Provide high quality online and site courses
Follow the updated Social Science Framework “to teach content, develop inquiry-based critical thinking skills, improve reading comprehension and expository writing ability, and promote an engaged and knowledgeable citizenry in history and the related social sciences.”
Promote quality content, inquiry, literacy, and citizenship.
Provide suggestions for social science standards-based curriculum and online resources
Present lessons and primary source documents to promote discussion and historical critical thinking skills.
Provide EE oversight for Social Studies portfolio review
Continue to develop and maintain the Social Studies department webpage
Be available by phone or e-mail to assist students, parents, or ESs with any social science-related questions
