Governor Gavin Newsom Lays Out Pandemic Plan for Learning and Safe Schools Monitoring List

“Schools located in counties that are on the Monitoring List must not physically open for in-person instruction until their county has come off the Monitoring List for 14 consecutive days. Schools in counties that have not been on the Monitoring List for the prior 14 days may begin in-person instruction, following public health guidelines. School community members – including parents, teachers, staff and students – can track daily data on whether and why their county is on the Monitoring List."

End of Year & New Bill on the Horizon

Dear Parents,

I hope that you are feeling proud of all you have done and accomplished this school year!  I know like most homeschoolers, you will continue to work with your students over the summer.  I hope you also take some time to relax and have fun this summer.

Some of you have asked about  the Assembly Bill 1316 and if it would affect our charter schools.  Below is the Bill content and  FACT sheet created by assembly committee.  Connecting Waters Charter Schools has sent letters of opposition to this bill.

Here are some Key Points of the bill: Key Points of AB 1316

Many people including law makers are confusing the failure of distance learning in the traditional schools with our model of independent study which provides flexibility, personalization and creativity. We need to tell our story and what we do and have been doing for 18+  years for students in Northern and Central California! If you have a story of how CWCS has changed your students life please fill out this survey or contact me.

Have a wonderful summer!
